James Robert Wolfe, Jr

JR is a multimedia artist from the Painttown Community.  He is the son of Robert Wolfe and Nancy Watty.  He has been making art since he first learned to hold a pencil, and works in many traditional media including copper, wood, river cane and stone.  He studied carving under Amanda Crowe in high school and has learned from many other artists since. 

Art to him is a reflection of who we are as Cherokee people, and he strives to not only represent himself as well as his community with his work.  Fittingly, he wishes to make a miniature Cherokee town as part of his work.
