James Bradley

James (Chigger) Bradley learned basketmaking from his mother and father when he was 10 years old.   He didn’t always want to do the art, but just tried to do better work than his siblings and fell in love with basketmaking.

He works with white oak, walnut, blood root and yellow root in his award winning baskets.  James is now teaching his children the art.

“I do this work because my mom and dad did it all my life and I want to be able to show some things my parents passed down to me and my siblings.”
