Faye Junaluska

Basket making has been a craft passed down through generations of Fayes family.  She began helping her mother Emma Taylor with beadwork when she was 12 years old, at age 18 she began learning basket making.  Now a master of her craft, Faye works in white oak, maple, and honeysuckle to create her baskets.  Throughout the years she has taught multiple classes at Qualla Arts & Crafts, John C. Campbell Folk Art School, Swain Elementary Schools, and Tsali Care.

Mrs. Junaluska enjoys making baskets, teaching, and going out to sustainably harvest materials.  The co-op has given her many pleasures in teaching her craft as well as learning other arts.  Winning multiple awards at the Cherokee Fall Festival, Fayes artwork is timeless.
