Angela Kalonaheskie

Angela Kalonaheskie’s great grandmother Katie Littlejohn wanted each of her grandchildren to learn some type of traditional art, so at 10 years old Angela started to learn how to make baskets using white oak and honeysuckle from both her parents Katie Queen and Jonah Kalonaheskie and her grandparents.

As a teenager Angela picked up beadwork from her cousin and taking classes in school.  Angela enjoys doing her art and feels it’s an important part of our heritage to keep teaching new generations.  It keeps us all connected to our tribe as a whole to continue to learn and teach.

She has taught all of her sons how to make baskets and do beadwork.
